The past couple of days i've been rather ill so looking at a big, bright computer monitor would make me feel rather rotten so I just stayed in bed to rest myself of the cold.
Upon being there I got the itch to draw but didn't want to go to great lengths to do so, which is when I remembered that on one of the DS firecards I had it contained Art Academy and so what you see below are doodles I doodled to pass the time (along with some doodles already on there from part doodle sessions.)

Three new Shirt designs!
I finally Got back to shirt designs this week so check them out.
Also I have to give praise to Mr. Deano Peppers for doing a wonderful Gymkata shirt design.
That's right, while I come up with ugly clowns and stupid monsters Deano does kickass movie parodies.

LUCHA LOVELINESS!
A Few Lucha Britannia Pictures i've been doing as of late.
All Wrestlers are of the surreal and obsurd and yet violently wonderful.
If you don't support the Lucha then kiss goodbye to your future!
BEST. MEXICAN. EVER.
I love their cake.....
and they offered me a slice which was so nice I did them twice!
If ever you want saving, for the love of cheetos let it be her.

Let me start off by saying I write this review as a means to support this game and to ease my boredom, I do not see myself as a guy who can write reviews nor want to, all I wish to do is on occasion express my experiences with the odd game or two I may play within my spare time.
I'm an old school gamer if you will and very rarely play video games these days but the Nintendo Ds is a handy thing to have when you find yourself with nothing to do, not many games stand out that are worth mentioning (or at least not worth touching upon due to having been discussed in great length else where)
I touch upon Monster tale as it was a game I had never heard of and gave it a casual playing session, it being "monster based" of course warrants my "review" due to me loving monsters so I begin by laying out the plot in my not so vivid fasion:
A little girl finds a magic bracelet which transports her to the monster world where it is in rule by the kid kings, a group of kids who have taken control with the logic that monsters should be ruled over and not seen as equal.
The little girl finds an egg which hatches and turns out to be a monster which she promptly names Chomp due to his eating habits.
What takes place is a side scrolling experience which utilizes the touch screen by being Chomps safe house where you can obtain bikes, cookies, rocks, candy, etc and place them within this area for Chomp to use to gain exp. points.
You can call upon Chomp to help with your battle and over time he can gain different attacks, the comparison between this and pokemon are plenty but not too much that its an obvious rip off, both quite different in delivery.
The game itself consists of a lot of back tracking which is its one flaw in my opinion, it can be quite tedious at times but regardless of this its a great experience to be had.
The Boss battles though not in great number are what you would hope for with a dual screen game and the monster bosses though not anything new to such a genre are still visually appealing.
One thing I would praise above all else is the soundtrack, I always find it a great thrill when a game has an enchanting soundtrack and to hear this at the very beginning of the title screen made me sit up and take note that this wasn't going to be a schlocky gaming experience.

Depending on what new abilities Chomp learns he can "evolve" into different forms which you can control to suit your preferences. The game itself consists of a lot of back tracking which is its one flaw in my opinion, it can be quite tedious at times but regardless of this its a great experience to be had.

If you don't feel all magical after that then go fudge yourself!
Overall it was a pleasant surprise to stumble upon such a game and hope for a sequel (though maybe a choice of either a male or female character due to boys liking monsters more....ewww a girl, icky!)
As I said i'm not one for doing reviews but felt this game needed to be championed, from an artists point of view I praise it also as its a very lush world full of colourful characters.
Monster tale, a game full of charm and fantasy and I for one praise it!
In aid of a fine movie viewing suggestion given to me by the talent that is Jeff Zornow I knocked up this little wonder and have shoved it onto my spreadshirt page, so if you love Tourist trap or have yet to view it get over there and buy!........or at least watch the damn movie, think Texas chainsaw but with a supernatural edge. www.andyrocketeer.spreadshirt.co.uk
